The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security visits SemaiSens at MAHA 2026

SERDANG, 30 August 2026 — Mohamad bin Sabu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, visited the MKR HARTAMAS booth at MAHA 2026 during a walkabout of the show. The Minister, widely known as Mat Sabu, was received at the booth by MKR Chief Executive Officer Khalili Rosly.

The visit came on the day SemaiSens launched its Agronomist AI Advisor at the show.

What was shown

Khalili walked the Minister through the platform: how satellite passes are turned into field-level guidance, how each recommendation is traced back to the evidence behind it, and how the crop models are written around the way Malaysian crops behave through a season rather than adapted from temperate ones.

The last of those is where most of the work has gone. A rubber block that drops its leaves on schedule is not a failing block, and a health index that has never been told about wintering cannot tell the difference. Getting that right is less visible than the interface, and it decides whether a field team keeps using the thing after the first season.

Both halves of the work

MKR's booth carried both halves of the company's work. SemaiSens ran on screen, and the TerraGlide EV40 stood beside it. The EV40 is the electric tractor MKR launched at MAHA 2024, and it remains Malaysia's first locally built electric tractor.

A souvenir was presented to the Minister at the booth, with the EV40 behind.

MAHA is organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and is the largest agriculture show in the region.
